Frequently asked questions
How are the six hours organised?
There are two three-hour sessions: throwing on Saturday and trimming on Sunday. Ask us on WhatsApp for upcoming dates and session times.
What is the difference between throwing and trimming?
Throwing means shaping clay as it spins on the wheel. Trimming happens once the piece has firmed up: excess clay is removed and the shape and base are refined.
What does the €110 price include?
The price per person covers the full six-hour weekend, materials, and glazing and firing of two pieces selected at the end.
How many people can join?
Groups have a maximum of four participants. Ask about available places for your preferred date.
Is the workshop available in English?
Yes. All SAMAL pottery classes are available in English, including the weekend wheel workshop.
Can I take my pieces home on Sunday?
Your two selected pieces stay at SAMAL for glazing and firing. They can be collected after that process is complete; check with the studio when they will be ready.
